✏️ Author’s Note
Dear
Reader,
If
you're reading this series [or listening to the podcast version, if one exists),
it means the syrup stuck.
Years
ago, in a small Oklahoma town of Friendship, where the grass sometimes outgrew
the ambition and the vending machines offered betrayal disguised as snacks,
there were two boys: one who wore his heart under his hoodie and moral clarity
stitched into his Fruit of the Looms… and another who walked through life like
the floor was lava and his soul was caffeinated.
This is
their story—well, the early part of it.
The
Mischief Chronicles
follows Alejandro and Chip through the glorious disaster that was their
freshman year at Friendship High. There will be fire drills, hallway
revolutions, awkward poetry, waffle uprisings, gym class trauma, and exactly
one sentient binder. And beneath all of it: a bond formed from chaos, candor,
and cafeteria-based grace.
This series
isn’t about getting everything right. It’s about showing up with your socks
uneven, your heart a little loud, and saying, “Hey, can I sit with you?”
So,
pull up a chair. Open to page one. And remember—bravery sometimes shows up in
white gym shorts, holding a notebook, trying not to sweat too loudly.
Welcome
to the circle.

humor, heart, and high school mischief, Carlos Michael --Keeper of the

written in smudged ink and Fruit of the Loom clarity.
> If
you’re reading this, you’re in it now. > > Not just the stories. The
mess. The hallway collisions. The gym shorts conspiracy. > > You’re in
the mischief. > > This isn’t a memoir. It’s a survival guide
disguised as a confession manual written by two boys in questionable footwear.
> > All I know is: everything that mattered started with a waffle, a
journal, and someone saying, > > “You okay if I sit here?” > > I
said yes. You just did too. > > – Alejandro*
The Core Crew: With others appearing as we go along >
Alejandro Armando Armand (Our Hero Narrator)
An introspective, Fruit-of-the-Loom-wearing freshman with a sharp eye for absurdity and an even sharper sense of loyalty. Equal parts existential and waffle-centric. Navigates school life with poetic panic and soft-spoken sass.
Chip Witherspoon (Best Friend, Chaos Magnet)
Alejandro's partner in mild crime and syrup-fueled schemes. Loud, lovable, occasionally allergic to logic. Has dabbled as DJ Syrup Drop, a haunted cowboy, and spiritual corn dog devotee. Most likely to yell, "I regret nothing" mid-fire drill.
Conchita Armand (Older Sister, Tactical Genius)
Alejandro's sister and spiritual commander. Wields sarcasm like a lightsaber and flashcards like scripture. Invented "truth empanadas" and rewired the school's midterm survival logic. Equal parts fierce, hilarious, and terrifying in group projects.
Señora Bondigas (Family Matriarch, Verbal Powerhouse)
Not related by blood-but absolutely family. Alejandro's spiritual aunt figure, voice of judgmental warmth, and unofficial educational watchdog. Carries tamales in her purse and pamphlets on institutional reform under her shawl. Terrifyingly insightful.
Mr. Santiago (School Custodian, Accidental Oracle)
Appears often during moments of mayhem. May or may not have been summoned during a seance. Believes Alejandro needs more protein and supervision. Beloved by no one more than the mop he pushes and the secrets he keeps.
Coach Everhart (Gym Teacher, Fitness Cryptid)
Grunts, growls, and occasionally materializes when someone skips a warm-up. Once drawn with bat wings in a haunted locker. Doesn't smile. Might sleep in the equipment closet.
Principal Herrera (Authority Figure, Conflict Survivor)
Knows something strange is happening but lacks the budget to stop it. Wears tired blazers and sighs in italic font. Has banned fog machines, unlicensed storytelling, and "anything described as emotionally sticky."
Chet Mango (Former Student, Folklore Legend)
Graduated long ago, yet mysteriously reappears via haunted locker notes and pre-loved undergarments labeled "GOTCHA!" May or may not be orchestrating events from a waffle truck in Reno. Possibly eternal.
Darryl the Upperclassman (Fringe Element, Mysterious Dealer)
Trades contraband syrup and tales of detention survival. Speaks in riddles. Trusted by no one, and yet somehow always near the vending machines.
Emilia (Phased out--Former Crush, Classmate)
Appeared briefly as a potential romantic interest, now respectfully retired from Alejandro's storyline so he can focus more deeply on Chip, chaos, and selfhood.
